Hyatt to Open Thompson Hotel in Seville

Hyatt Hotels Corporation affiliate Hoteles Color Especial has entered into an agreement to bring the first Thompson-branded Hyatt hotel to Seville, Spain's fourth-largest city.

The expansion of the Thompson Hotels brand is part of Hyatt’s accelerated brand growth strategy for Spain, the world's second-largest tourist destination; where the hotel operator's portfolio now spans 11 different brands.

Anticipated to open in 2026, the 101-room luxury lifestyle property will be fourth Thompson Hotels property in Europe, joining Thompson Madrid, which opened in 2022, and the previously announced Thompson Rome, expected to open mid-2024, and Thompson Vienna, which is slated to join the Hyatt portfolio in 2025.

With 18 Thompson Hotels currently open across 16 cities globally, plans for Thompson Seville are pivotal to the brand’s growth plans and continues Hyatt’s growth momentum across the most sought-after destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The Thompson Hotels brand is renowned for channelling a destination’s local creative energy, combining distinctive design and culinary sophistication.

With the cultural areas of music, art, fashion, design and cuisine at the heart of the Thompson Hotels brand experience, the properties serve as a dynamic home-base for tastemakers, emerging creatives and culturally astute travellers to connect with one another on what inspires them.

Home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and bursting with flamenco music, Andalusian gastronomy and antique charm, Seville is a perfect base for a hotel that aims to curate the best of each destination’s culture as part of the guest experience.

The hotel will provide the perfect setting for guests to immerse themselves in local culture both in the hotel and out, in a privileged location within walking distance to Seville’s vibrant city centre.

We have ambitious plans for our brand expansion in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and today’s announcement is a true testament to our continued success in strengthening our position and ever-growing brand footprint in the region

The Thompson Hotels brand has a vast potential in our region, and particularly in cities that combine a strong leisure and lifestyle offering”.

Thompson Seville will also boast a restaurant, a stunning rooftop bar with a pool, dedicated meeting rooms, coworking space, and a gym, among other amenities.

With the combination of iconic properties in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona with its portfolio of resorts in the Canary and Balearic archipelagos, Hyatt offers the fourth-largest hospitality portfolio in the country by room count.
