UK B Corp Certification for Contract Caterer
Talkington Bates has become the third contract caterer to be certified under the UK's 'B Corporation' movement.
Certification confirms a commitment to purpose-based goals outside of profit, and requires a minimum 'B Impact Assessment' score of 80 across the areas of governance, 'workers', community, environment and customers.
Talkington Bates achieved a score of 93.5, demonstrating a high standard of social and environmental work.
The achievement follows the company's recent certification to the ISO9000 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO4001 (Environmental Management Systems) standards.
Talkington Bates was also selected for this year's The Times Best Places to Work list, which is compiled with employee experience specialist WorkL and used survey questionnaires to measure employee engagement in the areas of wellbeing, staff development and training, and reward and recognition.
Co-founder, Paul Bates, comments: “As a privately-owned caterer, this process was especially long and challenging, but it also led us to think differently about how we operate.
B Corp Certification, along with our quality management certifications and recognition from The Times have all helped us show how our transparent progressive environmental and social work are at the heart of everything we do.”
