Building and Real Estate Management North Rhine-Westphalia (BLB NRW) has expanded its contractual relationship with STRABAG Property and Facility Services to include the provision of technical facilities management services at the JVA correctional facility in Bochum and Mont Cenis Training Academy in Herne.
The new contract will result in the integrated property and facility services provider working with BLB NRW's Dortmund regional office for the first time, building on contracts it already manages in Münster, Duisburg and Cologne.
Occupying approximately 60,000 square metres, the Bochum correctional facility includes prison buildings, administrative areas, the public entrance and multipurpose buildings - with parts of the facility listed as historical monuments.
The Mont Cenis Training Academy occupies approximately 10,600 square metres with the academy building designed as an unique ensemble of event and seminar rooms to maximise the interplay of light and shadow, wood and glass.
STRABAG PFS's previous engagement with sensitive buildings includes Willich Prison, another complex project with special security and operational requirements.
The company also provides integrated property services to the NRW State Office for Police Training, Further Training and HR (LAFP NRW) in Münster.
