ITN Productions' news programme to put facilities management in the spotlight

British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and television heavyweights ITN in exciting new video content partnership.

The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) have joined forces with television heavyweights ITN in an exciting new video content partnership.

The series of programmes will be presented from the ITN studios by Natasha Kaplinsky. Focusing on key interviews and event coverage, whilst defining the importance of facilities management (FM) to society and the UK economy, the series will bring to life examples of FMs' impact with a view to advancing and growing the profession to a wider mainstream audience.

Gareth Tancred, CEO of BIFM said: "This significant partnership with ITN is just one element of our strategy to raise the profile of FM practitioners and the wider sector, demonstrating our impact on society and the economy. I can't think of a better platform to enable us to do this. ITN is an exceptional major news producer, highly experienced in delivering world-class productions. I know this new initiative will be widely welcomed across the FM sector."

Simon Shelley, UK Director of Programming at ITN Productions, commented: "We're delighted that we're able to start celebrating and communicating the success of facilities management with BIFM, and the vital strategic importance of the sector through the production of this programme. For some time we've noticed the work of BIFM and witnessed the growing importance and profile of the FM sector, we feel confident that viewers will express an interest in these programmes, gaining a good understanding of the FM profession - and crucially recognising everything it delivers to individuals in their personal and professional life."

ITN is inviting BIFM members to get involved by way of 'editorial profiles' on organisations who have a story to tell and can be the examples of best practice in different areas of the sector. Organisations, or individuals wanting to take part in this initiative should contact Simon Shelley at [email protected].

The first programme is set to launch in May 2014 at ThinkFM and then distributed across the sector and wider industry media.
