Launch of new e-building platform in May to eliminate need for municipal visits by consultants and contractors.
Dubai Municipality is to introduce compulsory online reporting of planning compliance issues when its new e-building platform launches on 1 May.
Consultants and general contractors will be required to use the new platform for all non-industrial, foundation stage site inspection requests, applications for the provision of temporary utilities at construction sites, and for administrative record-keeping with municipal authorities.
Building Department Director, Engineer Khalid Mohammed Salih, explains the initiative has been prompted by "keenness to transfer services to smart and comprehensive systems".
The Municipality has produced a handbook on using the new e-building platform and has dedicated teams available to respond to online requests for training from newly licensed companies at its Al-Karama and Umm Ramool branches.
Dubai Municipality has also announced that responsibility for verifying planning compliance of industrial projects is being transferred to licensed consultants who will also assume responsibility for making amendments to planning applications.
