New PT500 Walkie Talkie brings Lone Worker safety

Red Radio are pleased to announce the official launch of their latest portable two way radio, the PT500, with in-built protection for lone workers.

Aimed at the Professional radio user, the PT500 is highly compact and light, yet exceptionally rugged, with a hoseproof IP65 rating and is still one of the loudest radios on the market with 1Watt of audio output, allowing clear communication even in noisy environments.

Based on the multi-award winning "Lynx" series PT600 model, the new PT500 has similar features in a smaller size, measuring 96.5mm (H) x 54mm (W) x 32mm (D) and weighing less than 235g, and with a smaller price of typically £135 (+VAT) for a complete package of radio, high capacity Li-ion battery pack, antenna, belt clip and Rapid charger unit. All Lynx series radios come with a 2 year warranty.

Apart from being rugged, the PT500 is smart too. it has a "Panic Button" which can uniquely identify the user and summon assistance.

In addition, a programmable Lone Worker Alarm will start an internal timer when the radio is switched on, and pre-alert the user at regular intervals to press a button to confirm that they are OK.

If they fail to respond to a Lone Worker "Prompt", then again a Panic Alarm is sent over air to other radios users in the group to alert of an emergency situation. If a respective PT600 or PT700 radio is used as a "Guardian" radio, the individual identity can either be announced as a voice message or a text message (on the PT700).

The PT500 has English Voice annunciation of Channel and battery level as well as programmable call keys and "Power ON ID", which makes it an ideal radio for vulnerable workers in any environment.
