Scottish renewable energy firm poaches senior utilities expert to lead UK growth

Aberdeen, 25 September 2014: Raggnar Power, the renewable energy provider, today announced the appointment of Iain Ralston as its Director of UK Operations. Ralston, a business development professional with extensive experience in the utilities sector, joins Raggnar from the Met Office, where he led international sales activities in the offshore energy market.
The appointment comes at a time of rapid expansion for Raggnar, which currently employs 15 people primarily engaged in designing, installing and maintaining biomass energy systems for commercial buildings and estates across the UK.
With biomass fuels considerably more cost-effective than electricity, oil, LPG and mains gas for heating and powering buildings, and renewable energy incentives allowing property owners to profit from feeding excess energy into the national grid, the firm plans to double its team over the next six months to meet growing demand for biomass systems and develop complementary offerings in solar and wind power generation.
