Celebrating 50 Years of Success
Established in 1965, A-Chem Ltd based in Alfreton, Derbyshire has remained a family-run business, developing over the last 5 decades to become a market leader in the professional cleaning products field.
Founded by Sam Davis, the business developed from an initial idea, but grew sufficiently in the early years to purchase the first premises on Meadow Lane Industrial Estate, Alfreton within a few years of being established. The business moved from this site to their current one on the same industrial estate in 1995 and now operates from a 12,000sq-ft factory. The premises has recently benefitted from further refurbishment and additions to equipment which enables more efficient and larger scale production runs.
Whilst the foundations of the Company began firmly in the DIY market, the transition to the current manufacture and supply of quality products for the automotive, industrial and timber trades took place over an intense development period almost 40 years ago. More recently, A-Chem has moved into manufacturing specialist and bespoke products for high end industry, and developed surface enhancing products.
Significant work has taken place in the past couple of years and this has brought the company's corporate identity up to date in time for its fiftieth year in operation. A-Chem has also adopted one of the most advanced health and safety software packages available, ensuring that the company produces health and safety data sheets and product labels that are constantly updated to meet the ever changing Global, European and Environmental Directives. A-Chem's growing research and development team helps it to stay at the forefront of current markets and the company is keen to explore new areas for growth, including bespoke manufacturing for a wide range of applications.

With the focus on increasing market share, A-Chem attributes its on-going success to being proactive with sales and development, but also with an on-going commitment to investing into plant and equipment and quality, experienced staff.
The company is continually striving to develop environmentally friendly solutions for its customers, believing firmly this to be key to a successful future in the cleaning industry. Purchasing raw materials from some of Europe's largest and most reliable manufacturers, developing innovative solutions and adhering to strict quality control systems, all are points which A-Chem feels will be pivotal in maintaining a competitive advantage moving forward.
