From One Train to Another...

Although exporting to the Middle East can be challenging at the best of times, one company refused to allow complex transportation routes and customs red tape to get in its way.

Exporting to the Middle East can be challenging as a result of complex shipping routes and customs red tape. Grotech Production refused to allow either consideration to become a barrier to the delivery of a new contract for the supply of a versatile cleaning product to Dubai, and has now shipped two pallets of its Freshclean hard surface cleaner to the Emirate.

"Freshclean is attractive to facilities management companies because it is versatile on numerous surfaces and effective," explains Customer Relations Manager, Stephen Moore. "Because it is a powder we can export a lot more product more cheaply which makes it particularly appealing as purchasers are not paying to transport water."

"The challenge for our team related to the detailed paperwork required to ensure the complex chemical product was delivered without delay or not at all," he adds.

Indeed, the company's team were able to draw on years of experience of shipping sensitive compounds around the world and worked closely with Congleton-based shipping partner, Air,Sea Road International to apply lessons that have been learned from delivering products to to Russia and other European countries.

Martyn Peters, a consultant who brokered the deal on behalf of the Dubai operation, says: "When my clients mentioned they were looking to source a cleaning product from a UK-based manufacturer, I immediately thought of Grotech and Freshclean. Having experience on your side makes for a smooth process and the team at Grotech are familiar with exports which facilitated transportation and delivery."
