CompEX Certification for Working in Explosive Environments

Evolution (Electronic Security Systems) has become one of few companies operating in the United Kingdom's security sector to receive CompEX certification for the installation and maintenance of systems in potentially explosive environments.

Certification followed successful completion of training and practical assessments on the installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical and instrumental systems in flammable gas, vapour and mist environments, and is stipulated globally by the oil, gas and chemical sectors as a requirement for the protection of workers engaged in offshore and onshore activities.

Evolution staff received training in the theory and practice of working in potentially explosive environments, with practical elements of the course delivered in custom-built facilities that included simulated hazardous areas to re-create a realistic working environment.

Commenting on the development, company co-founder and managing director Richard Lambert, said: "We are proud of our reputation which has been built on supporting customers who may require specialist knowledge or specific technology. By further up-skilling our engineers, we will be able to deliver an even broader range of solutions for even the most challenging environments."
