Paul Thrupp Elected to Deputy Chair of The British Cleaning Council

Paul Thrupp, OCS' Director of Operational Excellence, Destinations and Venues, was officially elected Deputy Chair of The British Cleaning Council (BCC) at its recent AGM.

Paul (pictured far right) represents the Federation of Window Cleaners on the BCC Council. This appointment is a strong testament to Paul's reputation and standing within the wider industry, as a professional who has consistently delivered cleaning excellence throughout his career.

Paul has worked for OCS for more than 26 years and led the successful mobilisation of the NEC soft services contract. Commenting on his appointment, Paul said: "I feel honoured to have been elected Deputy Chairman of the British Cleaning Council. I look forward to continuing to support the great work carried out by the Council and all its members by coordinating the affairs of the industry and our responsibilities at home and abroad".

Stan Atkins, the Chief Executive of the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), and new BCC Chairman, commented: "I am greatly looking forward to working with Paul as our new Deputy Chair. With the support of Paul, Pat Wherton, the BCC Secretary General and all of our member associations, I am confident the BCC will go from strength to strength. By working closely together we have a great opportunity to continue to build the reputation of the UK cleaning sector as a responsible and professional industry".

About the British Cleaning Council (BCC)

The British Cleaning Council (BCC) is the voice of the UK cleaning industry. It was established in 1982 to coordinate the affairs of the industry and to be responsible at home and abroad on industry matters.

BCC provides a forum for members to meet and work together to raise the profile of the industry and help gain the credibility it deserves. It also promotes and encourages improvements in health, hygiene and general cleanliness standards.

BCC has 21 members, which cover every facet of the multi-million pound UK cleaning industry.

Along with Quartz Business Media, BCC co-owns the world-renowned Cleaning Show - a regular and well-regarded exhibition held at the ExCel Centre London every two years (and the highlight of the international cleaning industry calendar).

Our aim is to provide a showcase that reflects and caters for the cleaning industry in the UK, with BCC ploughing profits back to support educational, training and promotional activities.
