Critical Issues in the Refurbishment and Maintenance of Car Parks

A new website launched this week highlights and addresses issues facing UK construction companies and developers, in light of the Grenfell Tower Tragedy and the European Parliament's first ever debate on fire safety (which took place on 13 September).

Created in response to significant and serious concerns regarding the possible dangers associated with outdated and poorly functioning car park ventilation systems - as well as revelations that buildings across the country are failing fire safety tests, the new website from PVE provides specifiers with an overview of key safety issues - as well as the benefits of of working with specialist car park system suppliers in order to achieve compliance.

Part of the international SIG Group, PVE are renowned for their eco-park® ventilation system which is installed at some of the UK's largest and most prestigious commercial and residential developments.

Commenting on the site, PVE's managing director Andrew Mowat, said:

"We have long stressed the issues around poorly-functioning ventilation systems, as well as the importance of system maintenance. Compliance with regulatory obligations should be at the forefront of building owners' minds - potentially meaning the difference between life and death. We wanted to demonstrate PVE's expertise, not only in the specification of new ventilation systems, but also our refurbishment and maintenance services - we hope the new website brings these together in a clear, interesting and informative way."
