Time is of the Essence

The innovative Fast Fit Tab-Lock Cord Roller can be locked in place single-handedly without a screwdriver, giving a very simple and quick install and adjustment. In addition, the cord roller has an auto locate function which means installers can fit more blinds faster.

To demonstrate their faith in the new product, Renaissance trialled it with existing retail and design customers to get on-location feedback of its use. This is the first time a launch has been executed with customer trials.

Rolf Smaldon, General Manager at Renaissance explained: "Time is of the essence for workrooms and fitters when they are assembling and installing Roman blind systems. Our customers were spending a lot of time assembling systems in the workroom, then when on site trying to adjust them in-situ with the traditional screw-lock system using screwdrivers, while fighting with the blind fabric that was getting in the way.

"The unique features of the Fast Fit Tab-Lock Cord Roller is it's simple and fast assembly in workrooms which are further enhanced for installers on location.

"There, it can be easily lifted into place and fixed with the unique Tab-Lock system that can be simply, accurately and quickly adjusted without tools. This simple, secure system enhances the aesthetics by eliminating sharp burrs, damage to the paintwork on the cassette channel and roller creep.

In trials, customers demonstrated time savings of 30-50 per cent while loading the cord rollers, and more than 75 per cent when adjusting the position of cord-rollers during installation. Overall, this produces major time savings for workrooms and fitters alike.

"Customers often face tight timelines and narrow windows of opportunity to install and fit our products and blinds." explained Sam Smaldon, Sales Manager for Renaissance. "Asking them to trial it, proved to us how effective the product is and the benefits it gives them," he added. "Feedback was really positive."

Alyn Male, owner of AFW Interiors in Middlesborough tested it over three weeks. He said: "The Fast Fit Tab-Lock Cord Roller is a real-time saver particularly if you have to reassemble the product. In the past, if there was any bend on the square centre piece it would be a nightmare but now you can feed the bar straight through."

Gwen Lovett from Gwen's Sewing Box in Leeds gave the new cassette the thumbs-up. "I really like it," she said. "There's no screws involved which makes my life a lot easier. On the track I used previously we had problems tightening the screws. The Fast Fit Tab-Lock Cord Roller replaces these and makes assembly and installation much easier."
