Farnek Takes Delivery of Electric SuperMini
The vehicle which was supplied by Arabian Automobiles Company (the flagship company of the AW Rostamani Group - the exclusive Renault dealer for Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates), is expected to reduce the facility services provider's carbon footprint by 17 tonnes annually.
Explaining the purchase, Farnek CEO Markus Oberlin, said:
"Farnek was the first organisation in the GCC region to introduce carbon-neutral buses in 2010, which now allow us to offset 88 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
"Over the past two years, we have also reduced carbon emissions per employee transported by 44 per cent or about 118Kg per employee".
"It is therefore natural that our business strategy should include measures to bring our fleet of more than 200 vehicles into line with UAE government recommendation that 10 per cent of commercially operated transport should be electric by 2030.
"We also hope our branded Renault ZOE 40 will inspire our customers to consider lowering their own emissions."
The multi-award winning ZOE 40 is a five-door SuperMini in Renault's Z.E. (Zero Emissions) range, and is fast becoming a flagship electric vehicle because of its extensive driving range which is estimated at 300Km by the manufacturer in "real-life" conditions.
