Expansion of UK's Largest Cleaning Product Manufacturer
The firm employs 190 people at its headquarters in Buxton and they're also set to reap the rewards from the company's recent success with a new purpose built canteen.
Its research and development arm is also getting a big boost with the opening of a new fully equipped laboratory, which will enable the company to develop even more cutting edge products for the FM and cleaning industries.
Sales Director, Mark Woodhead, says the company has grown to be the UK's leading independent manufacturer of cleaning chemicals because of its focus on innovation and giving customers exactly what they need.
"We don't believe in standing still or resting on our laurels. We are constantly developing our products, quality testing every batch produced, to make sure our products develop alongside customer requirement."
The company also understands the importance of being environmentally conscious and sustainable, and being located on the edge of the Peak District gives it a unique environmental awareness.
Everyone working at Selden has a stake in it being eco-friendly and every aspect of production is guided by an 8 point plan that has the ethos of sustainability running through it.

In addition to its expansion the company will be marking its golden anniversary in 2018 with a number of events, culminating in the opening of the new visitor centre at its headquarters in the summer.

The original purpose built factory has undergone numerous extensions to its present 73,000 sq ft. A further 10 acre site (just across the road) with 80,000 sq ft was purchased in 1999, this has been partially redeveloped with 24,000 sq ft remaining and currently in use, housing our British Institue of Cleaning Science approved training centre, and additional warehousing. further development of this site is being undertaken in Winter 2006 to accommodate the acquision of the Decosol range of winter car care products such as screen wash and de-icer.
Selden's commitment to quality in all aspects of goods and services led us to seek and gain BS5750 part 2 ISO9001 accreditation in June 1992. Never content to stand still the company was awarded the environmental standard ISO 14001 in May 2006. This accreditation is backed up by the IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention Control) environmental management system monitored and policed by the environment agency accurately demonstrating Selden's total commitment to the environment.
