Richard Cousins' £41 Million Bequest

The late Compass Group chief executive, Richard Cousins, who died in a tragic New Year's Eve seaplane accident alongside fiancée, OK! Magazine art editor Emma Bowden, her daughter, his two sons, and pilot Gareth Morgan, bequeathed £41 million to Oxfam.

Cousins, who joined Compass as CEO in May 2006, lost his first wife to cancer in 2015 and reportedly planned to leave his £5.8 million job as the Head of the world's largest contract foodstuff company, to spend more time with Ms. Bowden.

According to the Sun newspaper, the British tycoon had changed his will in 2016 to include a "common tragedy" clause leaving the bulk of his estate to the children's charity, in the event of his sons being unable to inherit his fortune.
