RICS Celebrates 150 Years
In addition, RICS is hosting an exhibition at its Parliament Square headquarters building in London. "Shaping the World, Building the Future" offers a rare opportunity to see the positive impact and significant contribution surveyors all over the world have made over the last 150 years. As part of the celebrations, our iconic HQ, built in 1899, has been recreated in Lego.
Pledge 150 campaign
Our 150th anniversary not only presents an opportunity to celebrate our past, but to help define the future. Our Pledge150 campaign in partnership with property industry charity LandAid aims to provide 150 bed spaces to help fight youth homelessness.
Visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II to RICS Headquarters
Our longest-serving Royal Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, will visit RICS headquarters on Tuesday 20 November to mark our 150th anniversary. To enable members of the profession, trainees and students around the world to share this historic moment we will be livestreaming the visit.
The Queen will visit our 150th anniversary exhibition, meet members of the profession and RICS staff, and hear about all aspects of RICS' work. The visit will recognise RICS' long-standing values and the global work of chartered surveyors, while showcasing new technologies. We will also celebrate the contribution of younger professionals as they take on greater responsibility for shaping the built environment of the future and protecting the natural environment.
Her Majesty's decision to include us in her busy schedule is a mark of her affection for RICS and the importance she places on our public interest role. Her Majesty last visited RICS in 1999.
