CIFF Shanghai 2024: Showcasing Excellence in Furniture Design

The 54th edition of FM Magazine partner event and the world's biggest furniture exhibition The China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) Shanghai recently concluded at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai Hongqiao.

This year’s theme, “Design Empowerment - Dual Internal-External Drive,” underlined the event's commitment to innovation and quality in the furniture sector.

CIFF Shanghai brought together the entire furniture supply chain under one roof, featuring various themed areas such as Design Eden – Contemporary Design Trade Fair, Sofa Pavilion, Smart Sleep Pavilion, and Living & Dining Rooms Furniture Pavilion.

The event hosted five distinct fairs: CIFF WMF, CIFF Upholstery Tech, CIFF Offices & Public Spaces Exhibition, CIFF Urban Outdoor Furniture Exhibition, and CIFF Home Textiles & Accessories Lifestyle Exhibition.

The fair attracted over 1,300 brands and covered an exhibition area of 300,000 square meters.

It welcomed 89,433 trade visitors, including 10,486 international attendees, marking an 18.31% increase in global participation.

This growth reflects the successful shift of Chinese companies from product export to brand export.

The event was notable for its balance in terms of attendee numbers and scale, as well as the originality of product designs, the quality of the stands, and the innovative solutions offered by participating companies for home, office, public spaces, and outdoor living.

CIFF Shanghai has significantly impacted the design industry in China by providing a platform for local and international brands to showcase their innovations.

The fair has facilitated the transition of Chinese companies from focusing solely on product export to emphasizing brand export.

This shift has enhanced the global perception of Chinese design, highlighting the country’s ability to produce high-quality, innovative products.

The fair’s emphasis on sustainability, customization, and modular design has influenced industry trends, encouraging companies to adopt more environmentally friendly practices and to offer more personalized solutions to consumers.

CIFF Shanghai has also fostered collaborations between designers, manufacturers, and technology providers, driving the industry forward.
